Bountiful is a city in Davis County, Utah. It is a large suburban community located only miles away from the Great Salt Lake.

According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Bountiful has a population of more than 41,000 people. The city has a total area of 13.5 square miles with a population density of over 3,000 people per square mile. It is located at high altitudes of over 4,000 feet above sea level.

The racial demographics of Bountiful are 95.56% White, 0.24% African American, 0.27% Native American, 1.15% Asian, 0.32% Pacific Islander, 1.12% from other races, and 1.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race make up 2.90% of the population.

Bountiful has more than 13,000 households. The median income for a household in the city is $55,993, and the median income for a family is $62,905.

Bountiful is home to notable religious landmarks of Bountiful Utah Temple and Bountiful Utah Tabernacle, both belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Davis County is located in northern Utah and surrounded by Weber County on the north, Morgan County on the east, and Salt Lake County on the south. On the western side, Davis County is completely bound by the Great Salt Lake. Across the lake are the counties of Tooele and Box Elder.

According to the census of 2000, Davis County has a population of over 238,000 residents and is part of the Wasatch Front, an urban area where more about 80% of Utah's population is concentrated. Davis County is located only few miles to the north of Salt Lake City, the capital and largest city in Utah with over 180,000 people. Davis County has a total area of 634 square miles, with about half of it being water.

Davis County is home to a total of fifteen cities. The largest city is Layton and the county seat is Farmington. Davis county consists of ‘'bedroom communities', meaning that a large percentage of the residents work in other counties. The county is suburban in nature with an abundance of new homes, offices, and other structures, with a continuing rapid growth of the communities.

The economy of Davis County revolves around Hill Air Force Base, which is the dominant employer in the county and the second largest employer in Utah. The base employs more than 23,000 total workers and provides a much larger salary than the average of salary in Utah. Another major employer in Davis County is the manufacturing company Lifetime Products Inc. Additionally, the county is home to the Freeport Center, one of the largest distribution centers in the United States with millions of square feet for storage serving more than 100 companies.

The Utah Transit Authority operates commuter rail services in Davis County along the FronRunner line with train stations in Woods Cross, Farmington, Layton, and Clearfield. The services run from Salt Lake City to Ogden.

Davis County is located between picturesque landscapes of the Great Salt Lake on the west and the Wasatch Mountain Range to the east. The county has an abundance of tall mountains, with Thurston Peak rising to 9,707 feet. Davis County also includes Antelope Island, located in the Great Salt Lake and is the largest island in Utah with 42 square miles of land. The island is home to the Antelope Island State Park which includes herds of pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, 600 American bison. The park offers a large variety of activities ranging from art galleries to hiking and other educational programs about the local wildlife.

Davis County has an excellent and extensive educational system. Public Education in the county is provided by the Davis School District, which includes 57 elementary schools, 14 junior high schools and eight high schools. Higher education is the county is available at campuses of Weber State University and Utah College.

Davis County has an array of public parks and other recreational facilities/areas. Additionally, the county is home to the Lagoon Amusement Park, a major attraction that features dozens of rides and carnival games and other entertainment. The county is also home to the golf courses of Valley View and Davis Park.
